Why is India so eager to go to moon? Do you think India can be a super power ever? Why/Why Not?
NEW DELHI, India (CNN) -- India launched its first lunar mission on Wednesday, with hopes of achieving high-resolution images of the moon's topography and diving into the international space race.
They want to do so for the same reasons the US, (former) USSR, Russia, the Europeans, Chinese and Japanese have all done so with satellites, to get ahead with scientific research, International prestige, and money from people willing to buy their advanced scientific instruments that have been proven to be advanced with a moon shot
It is a wise choice to go to the moon as it means boatloads of money to the impoverished nation when they sell their advanced technology on the open market.
Technology is how India has come so far in lifting her people out of poverty, but they do have a long way to go yet. Would you take away the vehicle that is lifting them out of despair?
The only insult to India's people would be to take away the space technology that they are earning through this moon shot
