Can you help me with burton bindings?
Im getting the burton lux, but i am totally clueless about my bindings.
so
1) Will a "reinforced blase plate" fit on any board?
2) Were can I get an adapter?
3) how much is an adpater?
4) what is an adapter?
Im on a loooow budget for my bindings so burton(anything) is def out of the quesiton
haha nooo I know how bindings work, I meant to ask more about universal plates! ahh it came out wrong. Ive never had a burton so Im like a newber to Burton, cus idk if its 3 hole
I would have thought that with all your posts, you know how bindings works, but i guess not.
Anyway the 2 main types of binding mounting discs are the standard ones that go on a board with 2 parallel rows of screws and the Burton ones.
If you get a Non burton binding, it will fit any non burton board. All non burton boards have the system mentioned above, so you would put in 4 screws on the mounting disc of your binding.
If you have a Burton board, there is a 3 hole triangle pattern that you need to use. If you have a burton binding the mounting disc has the same pattern so the holes will align with your board. Most high end burton bindings come with a mounting disc that has the standard hole pattern so you can put them on non burton boards.
A reinforced base plate just means that the mounting disc and the area around it have some extra cushioning. It will fit all boards. The adapter you refer to is the mounting disc.
As I said, if you get a burton binding you wont have a problem. If you get a non burton binding, then go to your local store and ask them if they sell the burton mounting discs. You can also just call burton and they will send them to you. Iv had friends that have got them for free, and some that were charged a few bucks for them.
Personally I think their boards are overrated, but their bindings are really good. so if you want to avoid all this hassle get some Lexa's. My gf got them last year and she loves them. One of my other friend has the stilletos and those are great too.
