What is the mpg rating on a stock 1966 Ford Mustang V8?

How many miles per gallon would a stock 1966 Ford Mustang 289ci V8 get? (assuming it is in normal, working conditions, all around)

How reliable would one of these be if regularly maintained?
How good it the 289 V8 engine?

well ive owned close to a dozen of these a stock 2 bbl auto should get 14-16 city and 18-22 if it tuned up and running right
hp ratings as follows c-289 2v=200 hp a-289 4v=225 k-4v-271 letter represents code for engine i have personally had a k-code hp 289 and would get 12-14 in town and 16-18 highway now this is normal driving put your foot in it expect less other than a tune up never had any problems think 5.0 or 302 reliable as the day is long 289 is faster revving than the 302 and parts can interchange only real difference is crankshaft i have built many engines using parts from both engines although pre-65 used a different belhousing pattern and you have to use the harmonic balancer and pulleys with the crankshaft it came with
