How powerful of an electric motor would I need for a Go Kart?
No one will be able to answer this question probable xD.
I am building an electric Go Kart from anything I can find.
I need to know what kind of power the motor should take to move the kart and how much torque the final shaft from the motor should have?
I put a link below for high torque electric motors,there are other sites so google your requirements if the site doesn't help.Was watching the show "Pass Time" on speed channel and this guy had an old Datsun pick up with a 25 horse electric motor using 70 (?) motor cycle batteries and that thing did under 10 seconds in the quarter.Owner said it was direct drive.You might also check out Tesla site and a new vehicle called a Aptera for Ideas.
