PlayStation 2 Help/ Problem?
I need help in my PS2. What happened was, since it wasn't reading my CDs, I tried to open it and clean the whole thing inside. I didn't expect there was an aluminum connected to the power/reset button so when I pulled the shell of the PS2, it came off. The aluminum sticked to the power button is still connected but what came off was it's tail (WITH A BLUE SLIGHTLY HARD TAPE) which I think is connected deep under the PS2. When I tried to on the power behind, it won't turn on. Even the red light doesn't show up. I dug the PS2 until i can see the lowest part which there is a blue tape and connected the aluminum's tail there but nothing happened. It still won't turn on. By looking at the aluminum's tail, I'm pretty sure it's not torn or broken, it just came off which can be easily reattached, can anyone help me what to do to make it turn on again? Or anyone knows where do I stick the tail?
I would really appreciate it if someone helped out, thanks a lot.
This happened to me when I was recieving disk read errors and in a last attempt I opened up my PS2. I had that same exact piece disconnect and I could never get the thing to turn back on again no matter what I did with that piece. I ended up scrapping the old player for a Slim PS2.
Here are a few links that might help you get it back together again.
