Building a new computer, need a little help.?
Ok, so it's that time again, and I'm building a new box and need some help. I want to make sure I get the most for my money. This computer is going to be used for World of Warcraft, Surfing the Web, Photoshop, music, occasional video encoding, etc. Am I getting a good deal, is there any adjustments I could make, I'm trying to stay under $1000.
My List:
Asus AN8 SLI Socket 939 Barebone Kit / AMD Athlon 64 4000+ OEM / 1GB DDR PC3200 / CPU Fan / ATX Mid-Tower Case / 500 Watt Power Supply - $549.99 with $150.00 in rebates
XFX GeForce 7600 GS / 256MB GDDR2 / SLI / PCI Express / Dual DVI / HDTV / Video Card - $99.99 with $40.00 in rebates
Seagate / 320GB / 7200 / 16MB / SATA-300 / OEM / Hard Drive (1 lbs) - $99.99 with $20.00 in rebates
Plus all the other basics, DVD Burner, CD Burner, USB 2.0 PCI card, cables, floppy, drive, pc tool kit.
The Grand Total is $902.89, is that a good deal?
Before Rebates that is...
its not that bad but you might want to check out the Intel Viiv dual core processor. Also 2gbs of ram would be good especially if you want to upgrade to Windows Vista. One other suggestion is an ATI 512 MB video card. Oh, and also look around for some other motherboards at places like compusa, bestbuy, and circuit city..hope this helps
