Buying a 95 S-10 Chevy Blazer with Head Gasket leak???
The condition is as follows. It does start. Has a problem starting right away due to the head gasket.
Has brand new battery, EGR valve, Plugs, Wires, and cap and rotor.
it also has a brand new coil and alternator. All of these parts replaced since may of 07.
It has a alpine cd player with ipod connection on it and upgraded 6x9 speakers in the rear. It has a custom box also. Depending on how much it sells for I may leave my 2 JL 12w3's in there with it's box.
Tires are in very good condition. I have new tail lights for it from APC that are all clear and I just put on it not to long ago the APC mirrors with turn signals.
I have a brand new set of rear brakes that I haven't put on yet that will go with the truck.and the front ones were replaced not to long ago also.
Is this worth buying for 1,500??
How much do I need to replace the head gasket?or can this be fixed?

I own a shop, and a 94 Blazer with a 4.3 V-6 engine in it. Believe it or not, but I have 250,000 miles on this vehicle, and it still runs pretty good.
To address your questions; You didn't state which engine it has, or if its a 4x4 or not. The four wheel drive makes the vehicle worth a lot more money than the two wheel drive. If its a four wheel drive vehicle, then its probably worth that much, but I think you could get it a little cheaper since it has an obvious problem. Adding up the worth of the good components that come with it, makes it worth it. Many times a bad intake gasket is mistaken for a blown head gasket. Take into consideration; how many miles is on the vehicle too. Physically get under the vehicle, and have a look at the underside for wet oil all over the place. Many problems can be found by doing this such as; a leaking transmission front pump seal which would cost a lot to replace. If oil is all over the place just behind the engine, it means the rings are shot in the engine, and its building up pressure in the engine, thus forcing oil out around the seals. A burnt valve can often mimmick a blown head gasket. Also; a cracked block, head or other problems of this nature can fool you, so don't take the owners word on the blown head gasket deal without first seeing the tests ran to determine this such as a compression test, and/or a vacuum test & leak down test. A blown head gasket (sometimes) puts coolant into the crankcase, or may just leak between cylinders. Even if you had to replace the entire engine, what then would be the vehicles worth? If you intend to do the work yourself, and have the tools & knowledge to do so, then I don't think I would go over $1,000 - $1,200 for the vehicle. It would have to be really nice as far as the interior, and the paint & body goes, for it to be worth that much money. A head gasket installed will run you around $800 - $1,000. The big question here is; just what made it blow a head gasket to begin with? I would think you must assume the engine is shot, and will have to be replaced with a used engine, or a rebuilt one, so study long & hard before investing in any vehicle with this kind of problem. An engine (that has a blown head gasket) can even have a bent rod caused by two cylinders off-setting the compression, as in a cylinder having compression, or coolant in the cylinder, thus bending a rod because the compression/coolant can't be pushed out of a cylinder fast enough, or pushed out at all. Some engines (with this kind of problem) can bend a rod, and it not show up until its driven for many miles after the head gasket is fixed.
