LCD monitor display is not as crisp as I would like it to be?
I recently decided to upgrade my 15" CRT portable TV to a 19" HD ready LCD TV/monitor combo. This was mainly to play HD content from my Xbox 360. However, the package came with a VGA cable, so I thought it would be worth a try to use the 19" as a second monitor for my laptop.
The picture I get on the 19" is a little fuzzy - text lacks the definition I get on the laptop's built-in screen. What do you think the problem is here? My laptop, the monitor, the quality of the VGA cable, or the fact that I'm using VGA at all?
Specs:
Laptop graphics chip: NVIDIA 7150M / nForce 630M
Laptop RAM: 2GB
Laptop screen native resolution: 1280x800
Monitor native resolution: 1440x900
I'm sorry. I forgot to include this major detail in the question: I have set the output resolution of the laptop to that of the monitor's native 1440x900. It is fuzzy at any resolution I try.
You need to set the resolution of the computer to the monitor native resolution. If they don't match, then monitor will do approximation for the dots, making them fuzzy. So change the resolution of the computer to the factor of the native resolution.(factor such as 2,3, 4, etc). So try 720x450 or 720x900, or 1440x450, etc. Any other reolution such as 1280x800 will make the monitor fuzzy.
