Should I keep my Turbo 400 Transmission when installing a 383 Stroker Kit to my 350 SBC?
I own a '68 El Camino. Right now, it does NOT have my Turbo 400 Transmission in it. I am planning on installing it after I take it to a Transmission Shop to get it rebuilt, about $800 dollars would work wonders on it I would think. My 350 SBC is in my '68 El Camino right now. The upgrades are an Edelbrock Aluminum Intake, Holley Carburetor, and an Edelbrock Air Cleaner. That's it. Once I get my Transmission rebuilt, does anybody advise me to change my 10 Bolt Rear End to a 12 Bolt Positive Street? And does anybody advise me to go ahead and buy a 2 Speed Power Glide Transmission? After I would make the upgrades to my Turbo 400 Transmission and change my 10 Bolt into a 12 Bolt, do you think it would handle a 383 Stroker Kit just fine? Yes you should keep your 400 trobo it is by far the best for a street and strip car it is a very strong trany.Joe
