What are the 5 main part of a helicopter and how do they work?

Control surfaces. The rotor blades and tail rotor (if applicable) are surfaces designed to act on air to move the helicopter. In easy terms it is like sticking your flat hand out of the window in a moving car. Small changes in the angle of your hand result in air pushing against your hand.
Engine. The engine provides the power to move the control surfaces fast enough for air to act against them.
Transmission. The transmission receives power from the motor and sends it to the appropriate control surfaces.
Fuselage. (body/frame) The fuselage houses the occupants of the vehicle and provides the structure to house the components of the vehicle, such as the motor and transmission..
Control systems. These provide the pilot with the means to move the control surfaces n order to pilot the vehicle. Most helicopters have the following: Cyclic (controls the forward/back, and side to side motions of the main rotor) collective (controls the up/down motions of the main rotor) foot pedals (controls the side to side motions of the tail rotor) Throttle (controls the speed of the engine)
