how efficient would 100% electric vehicle be in hard winter and summer time ?
Understanding that petrol power vehicle is a mobile power plant , Heater and Air conditioning are significant small amount of energy compare to the total power production capacity of any petrol engine ... How would 100% electric power ( battery charge vehicle will preform with supply electrical power to all , ( A/C , heater , power wiper , stereo system , etc .. )
I am just interest in your opinion ...... I guess the future will go back to the beginning of the first car , ( power only for the wheels ) lol .
On an 100% electric car heat and a/c would kill your driving range. You could easily lose will over half the range. The problem is that your car would need to make both of them using the same electricity that could have been used to move the car.
On a normal gas or diesel car its a small difference. Your engine makes heat anyways so it doesn't change the vehicles driving range. A/C is run off your engine so it will cost you a little bit depending on your vehicle. Something with a very small engine might lose 10% of your mileage. A more powerful engine might only lose 1 or 2%.
